Water Resources Minister D. Umamaheswara Rao, along with local corporators and officials, took part in the programme. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rao appreciated students who performed cultural activities and called upon the locals of Bhavanipuram and One-Town area to make use of such programmes being organised at Punnami Ghat. Mr. Rao said the Ghats were developed during Krishna Pushkarams with an intent to create a riverfront recreation facility and called upon people of the city to make the best use of them. ‘Save nature’ pledgeHe asked the participants to pledge for eye donation as well as save nature by planting more saplings.
