The outrage over the shortened and delayed Winter session of Parliament sits ill with the ongoing truncation of Parliament via disruption. The onus of ensuring that Parliament delivers on its promise of a functioning democracy lies with each and every member of Parliament, with the government and the Opposition. It is incumbent on members of Parliament to ensure that the interests of their constituents are articulated and reflected in laws and policies. Democracy is hard work, it is time our Members of Parliament rolled up their sleeves and got to work.
