Share TweetBy Dhel NazarioMakati Regional Trial Court Branch 150 Judge Elmo Alameda has granted Senator Antonio Trillanes IV’s motion to travel abroad on Thursday, on the condition of posting a travel bond in the amount of P200,000. Alameda said in the order that Senator Trillanes has specified the duration of his proposed travel and the places where he will visit and that his travel abroad “bears the conformity” of the Senate President. “As a senator with a national constituency, his travel abroad may broaden his outlook of the problems of the country which he may use in proposing bills which is the core of Congress’ lawmaking,” the order read. The Department of Justice (DOJ) earlier asked the Makati court not to allow the senator to leave the country, saying that he was a “flight risk.”
