With only three weeks to go, a majority of people are still undecided whether to vote for or against the draft charter in the Aug 7 referendum, according to an opinion poll by National Institute for Development Administration, or Nida Poll. To the question on whether they will vote to accept or reject the draft charter, a majority, 62.48%, said they were still undecided (down from 64.94% in the 7th survey); 30.41% said they would vote for it; 6.79% said they would vote against it; and, 0.32% said they would go to vote, but not for or against it. The poll, the 8th of this kind by Nida, was conducted on July 12-13 on 1,503 people aged 18 and over of various levels of education and occupation across the country. Asked about how they will decide on a proposal for appointed senators to vote along members of the House of Representatives to elect the prime minister during a five-year transitional period, most of the respondents, 51.43%, said they were still undecided (down from 56.73% in the last survey); 29,01% said they would vote for it; 19.16% said they would vote against it; and, 0.40% said they would go to vote, but not for or against it.
