The departments of Taoiseach Micheál Martin and ministers Eamon Ryan, Simon Coveney, Jack Chambers, Helen McEntee and Heather Humphreys have refused to say if CCTV is installed in their offices. While most government departments have confirmed there are no security cameras in their ministers’ offices, the Departments of the Taoiseach, Transport, Defence, Foreign Affairs and Justice declined to comment, with the latter three citing security concerns. The Houses of the Oireachtas also refused to comment on whether CCTV is installed in the offices of TDs and senators. “The department does not have any CCTV cameras in the ministers’ offices or any staff offices,” it said. Green Party deputy leader Catherine Martin’s Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media said: “No CCTV is installed in the offices of ministers in the department and/or the offices of any staff members in the department.”
