In a surprising move in media circles, Kevin Merida announced plans Tuesday to step down as executive editor of the Los Angeles Times. But it would appear his tenure as the Times’ newsroom leader did not go as anticipated. The Times missed its revenue projections last year after Hollywood strikes curtailed ad spending by the major film and TV studios.
