Major fire alert at Auckland office buildingAMANDA SAXTON There were 16 trucks on the scene of the fire. A fire at a multi-storey office building in central Auckland drew 16 fire trucks and 70 firefighters in a major emergency response. A Fire Service spokeswoman said they were called to the Swanson Towers building in Hobson St about 6.50pm Friday, and they said the fire had quickly been contained. AMANDA SAXTON Trucks were responding to the fire on Friday night. Firefighters were carrying out a search of entire building floor by floor to ensure full evacuation.
