One of the top figures in the Kinahan cartel in Britain and Ireland has been arrested as part of a major British-Irish police operation. The man is one of four Irish people arrested in the operation, three of them in Britain and one in Ireland. The Kinahan figure is currently being questioned by the British National Crime Agency, which is leading the two-year long probe. Meanwhile, the man arrested in Ireland on suspicion of fraudulently supplying genuine passports to the Kinahan cartel has been released without charge. The Garda statement said: “This arrest forms part of a wider international investigation involving An Garda Síochána and the UK's National Crime Agency.”
