Spain's health minister says the country will stop administering the AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine for two weeks while experts review its safetyBERLIN -- Spain will stop administering the AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine for two weeks while experts review its safety, Health Minister Carolina Dias announced Monday. The EU drug regulatory agency's safety committee called a meeting for Thursday to review experts' findings on the AstraZeneca vaccine and decide whether action needs to be taken. The AstraZeneca shot has become a key tool in European countries' efforts to boost their sluggish vaccine rollouts. In the U.S., which relies on the Pfizer, Moderna and J&J vaccines, AstraZeneca is expected to apply any day now for authorization. Denmark last week became the first country to temporarily halt use of the AstraZeneca vaccine in recent days.
