Maisey Rika could win both the te reo Māori prize, and teh APRA Silver Scroll in October. The finalists for the APRA Maioha award for songwriting in te reo have been announced, ahead of the Silver Scroll. Rika’s inclusion as one of the finalists keeps her with a chance of winning both the Maioha and the mainstream Silver Scroll in October. She has nominations for two songs in the Silver Scroll category as well. The organisers of the Silver Scrolls also announced the finalists for other awards, including the SOUNZ contemporary award for composition and the APRA screen awards.
