A 58-year-old maintenance worker was sentenced to six years and three months behind bars for carrying a shotgun and bullets to Sham Shui Po in July last year. The defendant, Chan Tung-wing, earlier pleaded guilty to one count of possession of arms and ammunition without a license. He appeared before Magistrate Susana D'Almada Remedios today. Later, police found six more canisters of shotgun bullets as they pursued the fleeing defendant. Magistrate D’Almada Remedios adopted a starting point of a sentence at twelve-and-a-half years before reducing it by half to credit the defendant’s timely plea and for becoming a prosecution witness.
