People living near the A4 in Maidenhead felt forced to take matters into their own hands earlier this month to stop‘extreme danger’ caused by overgrowth obscuring the view of the road. The residents of Cherry Garden Lane ‘risk their lives’ every time they join or come off the A4 – due to the height of the vegetation ‘totally blocking the view’ in both directions. Several residents have rung the council about this, said Amanda Button, who lives on this street – but it has since emerged the verge is the responsibility of the National Trust.
