On an evening when Alan Devonshire’s side could have been dragged closer to the drop zone, instead they maintained their position of 16th, with results by and large going their way. Devonshire and his players would have hoped to have played on Tuesday and built on their impressive 4-2 win over Dorking Wanderers. Maidenhead have now played the same number of matches or fewer than seven of the eight teams below them in the table. They have eight matches remaining and travel to 13th placed Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday. There are still only seven points between second bottom York City and 12th placed Hartlepool United.
