When you look into Maia’s face, if you can look past the fear and the stress, you will see hope. Hope that any young lady should be able to have for a bit of human compassion; hope that someone, somewhere will save her from the unthinkable outcome that now looms disturbingly on her near horizon. It’s been my privilege to get to know this young lady. In Maia’s case though this issue has prevented her from getting on with her life, but not from a health perspective. Maia’s parents have been granted residency and any muppet should have been able to work out where this was heading.
