Eminent littérateur and social activist Mahasweta Devi, admitted to a private hospital for over a month, was put ventilator support on Thursday after her condition deteriorated. Earlier this year she had been admitted to the same hospital with age-related ailments. She is very critical now but in a stable condition,” doctors at the Belle Vue Clinic hospital said. The Jnanpith, Padma Vibhushan and Magsaysay awardee has been suffering from age-related illness for a long time. Undergoing treatment at a hospital here for over 45 days, her condition continues to remain very critical, PTI, Kolkata reported quoting doctors.
