Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission has asked the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) commissioner Ajoy Mehta to submit a detailed report on Kamala Mills as well as the Sakina fire incident. Concerned with the human loss, advocate Vivekanad Gupta has filed a complaint before the State Human Rights Commission against the local municipal officers, excise department officers and policemen citing negligence in both the fire incidents. Gupta had further requested the commission to inquire and recommend to the government to make payment of compensation, as the Commission may consider necessary.
