“It will encourage telecom service providers to erect the backbone of telecom infrastructure which we need in a digital age,” the official said. “Today, telecom companies and service providers suffer due to lack of an integrated policy for works like laying optic fibre cables (OFC) and telecom towers. “This will be an integrated telecom infrastructure policy to make the process of granting permissions easy for telecom and infrastructure companies,” said a senior official from the state information technology department. Mobile telecommunication companies may soon find it easier to get permissions to set up telecom and wireless infrastructure with the consumers too getting a better user experience.
