Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo Ajit Pawar died in a plane crash in Baramati on Wednesday (January 28, 2026) morning, along with four others on board. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president Nitin Nabin, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and the State Cabinet will be present. Soon after the news of the plane crash, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis got in touch with the family members. Later, Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde rushed to Baramati to offer condolences to the family.
