A tribute to Bengali cinema’s greatest superstar, Uttam Kumar, the film has managed to do the impossible, roping in the Mahanayak to posthumously star as himself. The film’s trailer shows Anindya Sengupta essaying the role of a student, doing his PhD on Uttam Kumar. This interesting transformation of the actor-fan relationship promises to be a treat to watch. What’s more, the film has used visual effects to instil fresh life into archival footage from 56 of Uttam Kumar’s films, in order to seamlessly incorporate his role in Oti Uttam.
