PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s working visit to the United States has a major diplomatic significance and will bring long-term economic benefits to the country, says Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong. “This visit ushers Malaysia-United States bilateral ties into new heights as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of ties between the two countries. “America was one of the first countries which opened diplomatic relations with us when we achieved independence, (and) diplomatic ties between both countries continue to thrive. “The Opposition is applying double standard by criticizing the government for forging strong and mutually beneficial bilateral ties with other countries. “Please do not politicize good efforts by the government, as partisan politicking should never supersede the collective interest of an entire nation.
