MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.6 earthquake hit Sarangani yesterday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said. Phivolcs said the quake, occurred at about 7:07 a.m. and was centered nine kilometers northeast of Alabel town. The tremor was felt at Intensity 5, which is classified as strong, in Koronadal, South Cotabato; Malungon, Sarangani, and in Malita and Don Marcelino in Davao Occidental. It was felt at Intensity 3 in Davao City; Glan, Sarangani, and Tacurong City in Sultan Kudarat. The temblor was felt at Intensity 2 in Kidapawan City, Makilala and Magpet in North Cotabato; Quezon and Kibawe, Bukidnon, and Surallah, South Cotabato.
