A magnitude 5.4 earthquake struck Davao Occidental on Saturday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said. According to a Phivolcs report, the earthquake hit East of Malita, Davao Occidental at 4:56 a.m.ADVERTISEMENTIt had a depth of 124 kilometers and was of tectonic origin. The quake was felt an Intensity III at Alabel, Sarangani and at General Santos City. Davao City meanwhile felt the earthquake at an Intensity II. Phivolcs said aftershocks could be expected from the tremor but no damage could be expected.
