MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.2 earthquake jolted Calatagan, Batangas early Friday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said. Phivolcs traced the quake’s epicenter 19 kilometers northwest of Calatagan. Calatagan felt the quake at Intensity II, Phivolcs said. Meanwhile, the quake was registered at Instrumental Intensity II in Calapan City, and Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro, Makati City, and Olongapo City; and at Instrumental Intensity I in Batangas City, and Calatagan, Batangas, Tagaytay City, Cavite, Plaridel, Bulacan and Marikina City. According to Phivolcs, Friday’s quake was an aftershock of the July 24 earthquake in Calatagan, Batangas.
