A magnitude 4.9 earthquake rocked parts of Cagayan Valley region on Wednesday night, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said. Phivolcs spotted the epicenter of the quake at 14 kilometers northeast of Nagtipunan, Quirino at 10:28 p.m. The tectonic earthquake had a depth of 60 kms from the surface. Intensity 4 was reported in Nagtipunan and Maddela, Quirino and Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya. The state-run seismology bureau said it was not expecting any damage or aftershocks.
