PETALING JAYA: A weak earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale struck the east coast of Sabah early Sunday (Sept 16). The Malaysian Metrological Department said that the 3.19am earthquake hit 103km east of Kinabatangan at a depth of 101km. In a statement, it said that the quake may have been felt around Kinabatangan and Sandakan. No tsunami alert was issued.
