Perumal is among the countless men and women who make a living out of selling items purchased in bulk at Parry’s. “I’ve been selling odd items such as electronic ware and clothes in this area for 10 years,” he explains. He lives in Moola Kadai and arrives at this spot with a jute bag stuffed with glue sticks at 10 am. Arranged in front of him, inside a plastic mug, are transparent glue sticks. “Look, simply melt the tip of the glue stick over fire,” he explains, giving us a demonstration.
