Sports News of Saturday, 14 March 2026Source: www.ghanaweb.comMadina will host this year's Sheikh Sharubutu Ramadan Cup on Sunday March 22, 2026, at the Madina Astro Turf, organisers of the annual tournament have revealed. At the launch of the 11th edition and draw, Madina was revealed as hosts, and thus becomes the 4th Zongo community to host the prestigious tournament since its inception in 2015. At the launch of the 11th edition, Dr. Abubakar Marzuq, who represented the National Chief Imam, conveyed Sheikh Sharubutu's goodwill message to all participating communities, as well as youth of Zongo community. The Sheikh Sharubutu Ramadan Cup, which is held annually at the end of Ramadan, is named in honour of the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu. Several Zongo communities across the country have participated in the tournament but so far, only six communities: Ashaiman, Kasoa, Nima, Mamobi, Madina and Adabraka have won it before.
