The Madhya Pradesh government has made agreements with the Tiruppur Exporters’ Association (TEA), the Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA), and the Indian Cotton Federation (ICF). The government of Madhya Pradesh will collaborate with the SIMA and the ICF to encourage the growing of Extra Long Staple (ELS) cotton. The best kind of ELS is grown in Madhya Pradesh, according to J. Thulasidharan, chairman of the ICF, and Tamil Nadu textile factories have a significant market for it. The Federation will establish a Cotton Development Board and assist Madhya Pradesh in increasing cotton productivity and acreage.
