The brand is considering the potential of renting furniture to respond to the growing proportion of people who cannot afford their own home, The Times has reported. Also this year, UK fashion rental service Rent the Runway mulled a horizontal move into rented furniture. Millennials, typically portrayed as the group most affected by this trend are the largest renting cohort, accounting for 40% of the private rented sector, according to UK census data. However, the growth of private renting is affecting over-35s as well.
