Makola, a traditional market center in Accra was obviously colourful, and busier, with people shopping at various corners for that special person. Though valentine's day wasn't hyped that much, some individuals are still ‘killing it’ with various surprise packages from traders in the market for their partners. All these gifts bought are aimed at surprising at their partners, putting smiles on their faces as well as making it a memorable day for their loved ones. Traders, on the other hand, have added finesse to the packaging of their gifts to attract buyers as well as make their products look classy. In the past, Valentine's day was mostly celebrated by married couples and people in relationships but it has now been accepted by some religious sects who also share in the joy of the day.
