A man armed with a machete walked into a Te Aroha liquor store where he filled up a pillowcase with cash and cigarettes before running off. The robbery took place about 6pm at the Te Aroha Liquor Centre in Lipsey St, Senior Sergeant Phil Ruddell of the Waikato police said. The offender then placed an unknown quantity of cash and cigarettes into a pillowcase, before he decamped in an unknown direction." The robber is described as a male Maori, about 30, of average build with a short, trimmed beard.
