A Machakos County Ambulance driver and a patient died in a road accident at Kathome along the Kyumbi -Machakos road on Monday night. The ambulance which was ferrying a sick child from Machakos Level 5 Hospital to Kenyatta National Hospital crushed into a 42 seater Matatu killing the driver and the sick child on the spot. He said two other passengers, who included a nurse and the mother of the sick child, were rushed to Machakos Level 5 with severe injuries. The ambulance accident is the second in the County after another one which claimed two lives at Mikuyuni area along Machakos-Kitui road in December last year.
