KUALA LUMPUR: The government should impose further Social Security Organisation (Socso) contribution on employers who neglect their employees’ welfare at work. “Socso will be able to identify employers that do not prevent accidents from happening. Halim was responding to Socso’s announcement on Wednesday to increase its payment rates under the Employment Injury Scheme and Invalidity Scheme. Hawiyah Bari, 58, said that the increase of payouts will help more than covering her daily cost of living. As Hawiyah has been receiving the benefits since 2010, she is eligible to receive more than 8.3 per cent increase in payouts beginning Dec 26 this year.
