MSD wrong to put Blair Nevin out of a job

Blair Nevin is back at work after winning a battle against the Ministry of Social Development. The Ministry of Social Development (MSD) was wrong to put a permanently disabled man out of a job he held for 18 years, an appeals panel has found. Up to 1800 people could have suffered the same fate as Blair Nevin, who was "discriminated against" by MSD when it introduced a fade-out to a subsidy that paid his wages. DAVID WALKER/STUFF Blair Nevin, right, is happy to be back at his job of 18 years after it was found the Ministry of Social Development was wrong to cut the funding that kept him there. After failing to be heard by MSD, Nevin's mother, Sue, contacted Christchurch Central MP Duncan Webb.
