The Treasury committee has published the full unredacted report into Royal Bank of Scotland’s “disgraceful” treatment of struggling small businesses that came to it for financial assistance in the wake of the banking crisis. They concluded that the behaviour of GRG staff was “endemic” and that managers ought to have been aware of the damage that was being done to small businesses. The report’s verdict“There was in certain respects widespread inappropriate treatment of SME customers by RBS,” the report found.
