Tigania East Member of Parliament Josphat Kabeabea Gichunge is counting losses after his car was torched by unknown youth. Reports indicated that the incident occurred on the night of Saturday, August 6, at around 10 p.m. near Thiiti bridge in Meru County. Confirming the incident, area police officer Joel Chepkwony noted that investigations to apprehend the perpetrators were still underway. It is still not clear what led to the incident neither is the value of the damaged property. "All IPOA monitors will be easily identified by IPOA staff badges, IEBC observer badges and their branded attire,” the organization said in a statement.
