Labour's Anna McMorrin visited the British Antarctic Survey in Cambridge to study maps, notes and records of dad Ian's journey over the frozen continent. It comes almost two years after the Cardiff North MP visited the Arctic to investigate plastic pollution - 55 years after her father Ian was on the Survey. British Antarctic Survey director Professor Dame Jane Francis, who hosted Ms McMorrin, said: “Antarctica is the canary in the coal mine. “The work of British Antarctic Survey is to gather the data and present our research so policymakers can prepare for how we tackle the climate crisis.”
