Chester BorrowsWhanganui MP Chester Borrows has been found not guilty of careless driving causing injury after two protesters were hit by his car last year. After a day and a-half trail in Whanganui District Court, Judge Stephanie Edwards this afternoon found he was not careless in the use of his vehicle. Police charged the 59-year-old after two women suffered minor injuries when they were among anti-Trans Pacific Partnership protesters blocking his car outside a Whanganui motel. Mr Borrows said he believed he was driving slowly and safely and was not aware he had hit anyone.
