By DICKENS WESONGA More by this AuthorAt least 400 bags of rice supplied by the national government to support flood victims in Alego Usonga have been stolen, an MP claims. Alego Usonga MP Samuel Atandi told the Nation that the rice, which was stored at the sub-county headquarters awaiting distribution, cannot be traced. Mr Atandi claimed the rice was removed from the store on instruction of immediate deputy commissioner Joseph Sawe. Mr Sawe said the food was distributed through a committee which helped to identify the needy families. He claimed that the MP wanted to use the relief food for political gain.
