Golam Mostafa Ahmed, MP of Gaibandha-1 constituency, was laid to eternal rest at his family graveyard at Chandipur village under Sundarganj upazila of the district on Tuesday evening. Before the janaja, Mostafa’s only son Mehedi Mostafa Masum made a brief speech urging all to pray for the eternal peace of his father’s soul. The Awami League lawmaker left behind a son, two daughters, host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death. Recalling the contribution of the elderly leader in politics, the premier said Awami League has lost an honest leader in his death. Golam Mostafa was elected MP on March 22 after the death of former MP Manzurul Islam Liton in December last year.
