General News of Monday, 29 April 2019Source: GLOTAMOT inaugurates GLOTA Governing Council, Functional CommitteesSome members of GLOTA Governing Council and functional committeesThe Ministry of Transport, during a media launch in Accra, has inaugurated the Governing Council and other functional committees for the Ghana Logistics and Transport Awards (GLOTA). Other members included Mr. Selby Ankrah Twumasi, Chief Director of Ministry of Transport, Mr. Kwabena Agyekum, Executive Director of CIMG and Mr. Alex Asiama of GIFF Secretariat. The Transport Minister expressed regret at increasing road transport fatalities due to reckless driving and failure by road users to strictly comply with road traffic regulations. He therefore urged organizers of GLOTA to institute an award for the “Best Road Safety Regulation and Management Institution” to aid in curbing road accidents and enhancing road safety in the country. The theme for the awards ceremony is “Rewarding contributions of the Logistics and Transport sector for accelerated growth of Ghana’s economy”.
