Getty ImagesThe rhetoric between Major League Baseball owners and players reached a fevered pitch this week. In their presentation this month to the players, MLB says cumulative annual earnings before interest, taxes and depreciation (EBITDA) have been within $250 million of breakeven since 2010. Forbes’ estimates have MLB clubs in the black each at an average EBITDA of $800 million for the past decade. Forbes’ profits include those from non-MLB events in cases where teams operate the stadiums and collect those revenue and are responsible for those expenses. The back-and-forth between owners and players during a global pandemic is turning the public against both sides.
