OZAMIZ CITY – Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) vice chair for political affairs Ghadzali Jaafar will head the expanded Bangsamoro Transition Commission (BTC) that will draft a new charter for the Bangsamoro autonomy. Headed by then MNLF vice chair Salamat Hashim, this breakaway group formally became the MILF in 1984. From 1996 to 1997, Jaafar chaired the MILF peace panel. From 1997 to 2001, he was a member of the panel chaired by the late Aleem Abdulazis Mimbantas, who was the group’s vice chair then. Under the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB), the BTC shall be chaired by someone nominated by the MILF.
