The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) has initiated its own investigation into the case of two airport police officers arrested on Wednesday night for alleged extortion. While the agency is still waiting for the post-operation report on the arrests of police officers Danilo Levite Jr. and Pablo Atayde, MIAA general manager Ed Monreal said that a parallel probe by their agency will also be launched. The entrapment operation was set up after the two police officers have allegedly extorted cash from drivers picking up passengers at the airport terminal. They were detained at Camp Crame in Quezon City and were facing charges for robbery and extortion.
