MDEC expects ADAX to be ready by end-Nov 2016

KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 19): Malaysia Digital Economy Corp (MDEC) expects ASEAN Data Analytics eXchange (ADAX) — a regional platform to connect communities, enterprises, startups, academia and working professionals in a central location — to be ready by the end of this November. "ADAX is hopefully to be open in store at the end of November," MDEC chief executive officer Datuk Yasmin Mahmood told theedgemarkets.com at the sidelines of BIGIT Technology 2016. In addition, organisations from the ASEAN region can utilise ADAX and validate their data-driven ideas, products, as well as use MDEC's facilities to launch their products. MDEC and Olygen Sdn Bhd today officiated at the Big Data Week Asia 2016 focusing on building data driven ASEAN, which has been officially recognised as the biggest data week in Asia this year. According to the estimated demand, in 2014 MDEC had targeted for 1,500 data scientists by 2020, which has now been revised to 2,000 data scientists due to the increase in awareness and adoption.
