MCO violation: Perak govt appeals for lower fines against matriculation students

BATU GAJAH: An appeal is being made to lower the fines slapped on six Perak Matriculation College students in Gopeng, says state health committee chairman Mohd Akmal Kamaruddin. He said his office is now assisting the students to have the fines reduced and would even pay on their behalf. "We are aware of the incident and are now in the process of pleading for lower fines. My office is willing to help the students pay for the fines," he told reporters when met at the Ramadan bazaar at Dataran Orkid here on Tuesday (April 20). Mohd Akmal also urged the public to trust the officers who are working hard to curb the spread of Covid-19.
