Former New Zealand all-rounder Chris Cairns has received an apology from the Marylebone Cricket Club for publishing a video linking him to match-fixing. Part of a lecture given by former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum appeared on the MCC website that linked Cairns to match-fixing. The video clip from the annual Spirit of Cricket lecture remained on the website for 11 hours before it was removed. Cairns has always denied any wrongdoing in relation to such allegations. The MCC said it had "withdrawn its allegations completely" and apologised.
