MCA planning a ‘jackpot’ for new villages - Nation


MELAKA: Plans to transform new villages into urbanised centres have got residents all eager about the economic possibilities ahead. Ayer Salak Village Development and Security Committee chairman Lim Cheng Hong said the village has great potential to be developed into a tourism hub for the state. Lim said it could realise the aspiration through the goals set out under MCA’s election manifesto, which includes transforming new villages into urbanised centres that promote e-commerce, modern agriculture and eco/cultural tourism. With MCA’s pledge to further upgrade the new villages, Wee said it will attract younger residents to stay and help develop their homes. Puah Kia Fatt, 61, went further, calling MCA’s election manifesto a “jackpot” for them.
