YONG PENG: MCA will double efforts to help its candidates win back all seats that traditionally belonged to it in the next general election and this includes addressing local issues. Deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said that while national issues were important, voters were equally concerned about local issues or problems closer to their hearts. He said the party wanted to reclaim the parliamentary and state seats that it had lost to the Opposition. “We have to double our efforts to ensure our candidates win and the seats come back to us. He said MCA was ready to face the polls and had instructed its 191 divisions and 4,000 branches nationwide to start strengthening the election machinery.
