MCA criticises PAS over discriminatory stance - Nation

PETALING JAYA: PAS should not criticise the media when its party president clearly said that only Malay-Muslims should be in the Cabinet, said Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker. The MCA religious harmony bureau chairman said that PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang claimed a Malay Muslim should lead the political landscape and that non-Muslims could contribute in terms of expertise and management, proving the party's discriminatory stance. “Is this what they mean by justice and humanity that they claimed to be championing?” he said in a statement Wednesday. Hadi had incurred criticism from various parties for reportedly saying that only Malay Muslims should be made the Cabinet ministers. But his deputy Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said Hadi's statement was twisted by the media, adding that “not a single sentence in the president’s statement had pointed to him wanting an all-Malay Cabinet”.
